About Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm)

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) is a four years undergraduate program in which students study the methods and process of preparing medicines and how the dispensing of medicines and drugs take place.

It is a four years course spread over 08 semesters. B.Pharm programme covers the syllabus including biochemical science and health care. The Pharmacy Courses are approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) New Delhi, Government of Karnataka and is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru.

Eligibility

The students who are interested in the pharmaceutical sciences can choose this course after the completion of class 12th/PUC with Science stream having core subjects combination of PCMB/PCM/PCB. Anyone who is an aspirant to be a pharmacist, it is mandatory for them to undertake this course so that they have thorough and in-depth knowledge of the science of the medicines.

B.Pharm degree has a tremendous scope and is going to flourish more in the upcoming years as there is a great demand for healthcare professionals who can prepare drugs to combat a number of existing unexpected diseases.

The pharma sector offers lots of opportunities to the students after the completion of the course. The students can work in a Pharmaceutical company or can practice as a Pharmacist. There is huge number of opportunities available for the students in both public and the private sector. They can also work in a government sector. Beside this, they can also work in Abroad in academics/hospitals/pharmacies/marketing/industry with very lucrative salaries.

After completion of B.Pharm one can work in government hospitals, private pharmacies and hospitals/clinics. Even one can also start their own industry/consultancy/pharmacy.In Pharmaceutical Company, they can work in the departments like quality control, manufacturing, packing marketing, production, etc.
